Edutek Pro ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how our mobile application collects, uses, and safeguards your information. This policy applies to all users, including Staff, Students, and Parents.

1. Information Collection and Use

We collect information necessary to provide school management services. We collect this data primarily from the School Administration and directly from users during app use and registration.

Personal Identifiable Information (PII): Names, email addresses, and phone numbers.
Authentication Data: User IDs and authentication tokens managed via Firebase.
Academic & Attendance Data: Attendance records, exam scores, and report card details.
Device Information: Device identifiers (e.g., Firebase Installation IDs) for security and fraud prevention.

2. How We Use Your Information

To manage student and staff records
To track attendance using QR code and geofencing
To generate academic reports
To improve app performance and user experience
To communicate important updates
To ensure security and prevent unauthorized access

3. App Permissions & Location Transparency

To provide core features, Edutek Pro requires the following permissions:

Camera Permission

Used strictly for scanning QR codes for staff clock-in/out and student attendance. The camera feed is processed locally and is not transmitted to our servers.

Location Permission (Fine Location)

Transparency Notice: Edutek Pro collects location data to enable the Geofencing feature for Staff attendance, even when the app is in use.

Purpose Limitation: Used only when staff manually perform "Clock In" or "Clock Out".
Foreground Only: Location is accessed only while the app is actively in use.
No Background Tracking: We do not track users outside attendance activities.
No Third-Party Sharing: Location data is never shared for advertising or external use.

Storage Permission

Used only to save generated files such as Report Cards, Receipts, and Lesson Notes. We do not access personal media or unrelated files.

4. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell or rent your personal data.

We may share data only with:

Authorized school administrators and staff
Trusted service providers (e.g., Firebase for hosting and authentication)
Legal authorities when required by law

5. Data Retention and Deletion (Google Compliance)

How to Request Account and Data Deletion:

Users can request that their account and all associated data be deleted at any time.

Partial Data Deletion: Users may also request that specific data types (such as attendance history or academic records) be deleted without deleting the entire account.

Data is deleted within 30 days, except where retention is required for legal, academic, or administrative purposes.
